Bring a Swedish lake to life with plants and animals. From the same team that bought you the smash hit Swedish Design Prize-winning game Skogen (The Forest).

As well as being filled with forests, Sweden is also covered with lakes: about 100,000 of them, to be exact. You're never more than a short distance away from a large body of water; or the wealth of plants and animals that call it their home.

 In Sjön, you get to celebrate – and create – the Swedish lake ecosystem in all of its feathery, scaly, slippery, spiky, beautiful, frightening, peaceful and predatory glory. As with its predecessor Skogen, you start with a blank canvas – an empty lake – and then your job is to fill it, slowly but surely, with life. You do this by selecting the "elements" required for living things and placing them on the lake bed: once a few are in place, you can start populating.

Before long, the full dynamic beauty of the ecosystem will bloom into life, and the interdependence of the species on each other, as well as their environment, comes into play. Your lake will be teeming with leeches and perch, dotted with lilypads and frogs, crewed with ducks and menaced by hawks. Nurture your lake as best you can, gain points for the most exciting and rarest species that you manage to introduce, and be careful of – and grateful for – the capricious forces of nature that wreak beautiful chaos on your environment.
